This Privacy Policy explains what personal information is collected through this website (drbrunomucci.com) and through the clinical practice of Dr. Bruno Mucci, how that information is used and protected, and your rights regarding that information.

As a regulated health professional in Ontario, clinical care is governed by Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). Website-based activity (newsletter sign-ups, contact forms, analytics) is also covered by Canada’s federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What information is collected

Through the website

  • Contact form: name, email address, and the contents of your message.
  • Newsletter sign-up: name (optional) and email address.
  • Booking: handled through the secure third-party platform Jane App. See Jane App’s privacy policy at jane.app/privacy. We do not receive your booking information until you arrive for an appointment.
  • Analytics and cookies: Basic anonymized analytics may be used to understand which pages are visited. No personally identifying information is collected through analytics. Cookies, if used, are limited to session and analytics purposes.

Through clinical care

  • Personal health information including health history, presenting concerns, examination findings, treatment provided, progress notes, and correspondence with other providers
  • Demographic and contact information
  • Insurance and billing information when applicable

How information is used

  • To respond to your questions or requests (contact form)
  • To send you educational newsletter content you have explicitly opted in to receive (newsletter)
  • To provide, document, and continue your clinical care (PHIPA-governed clinical records)
  • To coordinate care with other providers when you have provided consent
  • To meet legal, regulatory, and professional reporting obligations (e.g., communicable disease reporting, suspected child abuse, court orders)

How information is protected

  • Clinical records are stored in compliant practice-management software with administrative, physical, and technical safeguards
  • Access is limited to those who need it for the purposes above
  • Paper records, if any, are stored securely and destroyed appropriately at end of retention
  • Website forms use secure transmission (HTTPS) when submitted
  • Newsletter and contact form data is processed through reputable platforms and not sold or shared

How long information is kept

Clinical health records are retained for the period required by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario and applicable legislation — currently a minimum of 10 years after the last visit, or 10 years past the age of majority for minors. Website inquiries and newsletter sign-ups are retained as long as they remain useful for their stated purpose, or until you request deletion.

Your rights

Under PHIPA and PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access your own personal health information
  • Request corrections to inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential uses (such as receiving newsletter content)
  • File a complaint with the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (ipc.on.ca) if you believe your information has been mishandled

Newsletter consent and unsubscribing

You only receive newsletter emails if you have explicitly opted in by entering your email and clicking subscribe (compliant with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation — CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email care@drbrunomucci.com at any time to be removed.

Cookies and analytics

This site may use basic cookies for site functionality and anonymized analytics to understand which content is most useful. No personally identifying data is collected through analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — the site will continue to function.
